This is a great feature to extend the life of the turbo by allowing it to cool down before the engine shuts off. Idle Shutdown Timer – Set the length of time the vehicle will idle until the engine shuts off. Low End Power – Increase throttle sensitivity across the RPM range. This is great feature for keeping voltage up while running auxiliary electronics of PTO option. Idle Adjust – Enable and select a value for engine idle. To restart and relearn driving habits, choose reset. To continue a pause TAL process, choose resume. To pause or stop the TAL process, choose hold. Transmission Adaptive Learning – Hold, resume and reset transmission adaptive learning (TAL), which changes the way the automatic transmission in the vehicle shifts based on driving habits. Unlock Drive Door – The GT tune has the feature to unlock all the vehicles door with one press of the unlock button of your remote control unit. Shift on Fly – Change tuning level while driving. Notice – A DPF Burn-Off should only be used if absolutely necessary. After I somehow get this Bully Dog cleared off my ECM, I plan to buy a Smarty Jr, which is the universally recommended tuner on the Ram Cummins diesel forums for the 5.9L motor. The OBD2 port does supply that data, however, as I put in an Edge CTS Insight Monitor, which does give me TFT. That is correct, but mine does not produce one very important bit of data that I want when towing: TFT (transmission fluid temperature). Ugh!! Still hoping to get it VIN unlocked, but not successful as yet.īTW, OP mentions the Bully Dog tuner gives gauge type digital read outs. If I can't VIN unlock it, I will have to take my truck to the Ram stealership and have them flash the ECM back to stock. To the company's credit, the Bully Dog tech people have been very helpful, but the bad news is that so far, they haven't been able to VIN unlock the tuner from my truck. I have spent quite a bit of time on the phone twice with the Bully Dog tech folks, who are assisting me to try to VIN unlock this tuner, as I want to remove it. I can tell you that forums for Ram Cummins diesel trucks, that tuner has a terrible reputation and is not recommended at all so I'm getting rid of mine When I bought it a few months ago, it came with a Bully Dog GT Gauge Tuner on it.
